The Trap

The trap.

Why is the world choking?  Why is America falling?  Because too many with financial blessings believe in a fallacy.

The new age preacher said, with a sarcastic tone:

“I heard people say that they give, without expectation to receive… I feel sorry for these people.”  The crowd chuckled.  I chuckled.

  He continued:

“Luc 6:38, promises: Give and you shall receive.”  The audience came back: Amen.

He went on and on, how he did not give more than a $100 in his life before he got the revelation; yet when he went to a preacher, and the preacher told him you shall seed a $1000 bill, he overcame his aversion to giving.

He told how he was in the depth of poverty and despair, when God answered his prayer; he received a $5000 royalty check, Hallelujah!

It darned unto me, what a smooth talking crook!  He almost convinced me.  But the Supreme, Divine Light shone brighter than the preacher’s blinding flash.  If you listen with your heart you will know I am right: How can one give unless he has received?

He gave $1000 because he had at least $1000 if not more, or else he would be giving someone else’s money.

You may say: but he worked hard for it! That royalty check was compensation for the songs he wrote.  I will reply: he was blessed with many talents, the energy, the health and the time to compose.

You will come back: but he was born with these talents.  And I will affirm: his life was given to him; any feat he accomplishes is by the grace of God.

So “Give with Expectation to receiveis incorrect, the old “an Egg for a Leg” is nothing short of Satanic.  The appropriate quotation to go with Divine giving is “Give without counting”.  The only gift that counts in the eyes of the Lord, is the one given freely, because we noticed a need, because we want to share our blessing.

Some churches REQUIRE the dime.  Today, most people think the dime means ten percent (%10) of either your gross or your net.  If we truly believed that, then when the church, or the pastor, receives a $100, he only needs to give back $10.  That is why we see these ever so popular evangelical celebrities riding in expensive vehicles if not a Rolls, wearing flashy jewelry, and other like abuses.

Last but not least, if we do believe in the promise “Give and you shall receive to the tenfold”, the test for this assertion is very simple; If everyone gave $10, could everyone receive $100?  So obviously the meaning of the PARABLE is not measured in financial, monetary terms.  The kingdom of the Lord is not of this world.”
